Introduction
Welcome to INU’s Department of Chemistry. We offer various research programs to fulfill your goal in the core areas of chemistry as well as in the interdisciplinary areas of biomolecular sciences, membrane and materials chemistry, nanoscience, and chemical physics. With 10 academic staffs, strong interpersonal connections between our students and faculty and effective conduits between disciplines are the bedrock of our pursuit for academic excellence and vibrant research activities. Our researchers have access to numerous up-to-date instruments and facilities on campus including 400 MHz NMR, confocal laser scanning microscope, vacuum FT-IR & FT-IR microscope, AFM, and TEM/STEM-EDS. Seminars are held on a regular base, and students participate in nationwide academic conferences and have opportunities to present their achievements in research and to exchange latest chemical information. Many of our alumni are currently dedicating members of national labs, corporate research centers, industries, government, etc. Opportunities for further education are also open for the graduates.
Goals
We foster via independent and creative individual researches professionals who own deep insights in chemical sciences as well as aptitude to proceed technological developments for industrial applications.

Principles
- Only physics single major is allowed. We do not support multiple major.
- Registration should be preapproved by the department chair or his/her academic supervisor.
- The candidacy for a master degree requires at least one oral or poster presentation at nationwide academic conference.
- The candidacy for a doctorate degree requires at least one published or accepted paper in renowned academic journal.
